Why I wanted to be a WOW Counselor:  I wanted to show the upcoming freshmen the great qualities that ODU has to offer besides academic responsibilities. I feel there is something to do or a club to join for everyone, and I want to be the one who helps a new student find those events and love ODU as much as I do.

  DAWNIELLE ELLINGTON

Favorite Monarch Moment:  My favorite moment by far was going to the Freshmen Summer Institute during the summer prior to my freshman year. I had tons of fun and made friends that I have become even closer to over the past year at school.
Why I wanted to be a WOW Counselor:  I know how important it is to fit in and make new friends your freshman year. I want to make a new student's experience worthwhile, while they meet new friends. I love meeting new people and I think this would be a great way to meet new people who are different from me, but we all are connected by ODU.

Why I wanted to be a WOW Counselor:  The first year is usually a huge wake-up call and I know what it's like to feel lost and overwhelmed. Everything is thrown at you at once, so having an experienced helping hand never hurts.
