Important Dates 2009 - 2010
May 2009
· May 1: Deadline to cancel 2009-2010 Housing Agreement without being held to the cost of the full agreement period for their assigned building
· May 9: Residence Halls close at 10:00a.m. (Rogers, Gresham, Whitehurst, Virginia, Ireland, Scotland, The Inn, VABPW Foundation House)
· May 10: Summer School Housing opens at 1:00 pm (Check-in will occur at the Virginia House)
· May 31: University Village Buildings 1 & 2, Nusbaum Apartments, and Powhatan Apartments close at 10:00a.m. (May 2009 Graduating Seniors in the University Village buildings 3-10 must move out by May 10th at 12:00p.m. to avoid summer charges. A Housing Petition of Release must be filed with the Office of Housing and Residence Life by May 1, 2009.)
June 2009
· June 30: Deadline to apply for December 2009 graduation
July 2009
· July 31: University Village Buildings 3-10 close at 10:00a.m.
August 2009
· August 1: University Village 3 & 4, Powhatan, and Nusbaum Open @ 1:00 p.m.
· August 15: University Village 1 & 2, 5-10, and Dominion House Open @ 1:00 p.m.
· August 16: Deadline to request early arrival
· August 21: 1st Day of Early Arrival (Early Arrival charges will apply)
· August 27: Scotland House, Virginia House (Freshman Only), England House, Whitehurst, Rogers, and Gresham ONLY Move-In Day
· August 28: Foundation House, The Inn, France House, Ireland House, Virginia House (Upperclass) Move-in Day
· August 29: Classes Begin (Fall)
September 2009
· September 7: Labor Day Holiday (No classes)
· September 14: Submit Room Change Requests
October 2009
· October 1: Spring Semester Housing Applications Available
· October 10-13: Fall Holiday (No classes) (Halls remain Open)
November 2009
· November 1: Deadline to cancel 2009-2010 Housing and Dining Agreement for
NEW students only without being held to cost of the remaining full agreement
period for their assigned building.
· November 25: Residence Halls Close at 10:00am for Thanksgiving Break (The Inn, Gresham, Rogers, England, Scotland, Virginia, Ireland, and France)
· November 29: Residence Halls reopen at 1:00pm (The Inn, Gresham, Rogers, England, Scotland, Virginia, Ireland, and France)
December 2009
· December 11: Classes End
· December 12-18: Exams End
· December 19: Residence Halls Close at 10:00am for Winter Break (The Inn, Gresham, Rogers, England, Scotland, Virginia, Ireland, and France)
· December 23: University Closes for Winter Break
January 2010
· January 4: Deadline to Request Early Arrival
· January 4: University Reopens
· January 8: 1st Day of Early Arrival (Early Arrival charges will apply)
· January 9: Saturday Classes Begin (Spring)
